NEW YORK (KABC) -- Beyonce and Jay Z are breaking their silence about a video that shows Beyonce's sister, Solange, punching and kicking Jay Z in a hotel elevator.
TMZ posted the three-minute video on Monday, saying it was taken at the Standard Hotel in New York City.
The three music stars released a joint statement Thursday, saying they've moved forward from the incident and they hope everyone else will too.
"There has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it," the trio said in a statement to the Associated Press. "Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family."
The hotel says the employee who apparently leaked the video has been fired.
