Man sexually assaults 9-year-old boy in Santa Ana park bathroom

SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- Santa Ana police are searching for a sexual predator who assaulted a 9-year-old boy, who was attending a birthday party at a local park.

Investigators said on May 22 around 4:30 p.m., the little boy went into the restroom at Jerome Park, located at 726 S. Center Street. According to police, the suspect entered the bathroom shortly afterward and started a conversation with the child in Spanish.

The suspect then touched the boy's genitals and fled, officials said.

The boy described the suspect as being around 23 to 25 years old, with short hair and a thin mustache, wearing a white T-shirt and blue pants. The child said he did not know the suspect and had not seen him in the past.
