LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles Kings defenseman Slava Voynov has been charged for an alleged attack on his wife.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office says the 24-year-old Voynov caused his wife to suffer injuries to her eyebrow, cheek and neck during an argument. He faces one felony count of corporal injury to spouse with great bodily injury
The two-time Stanley Cup champion was arrested on Oct. 20 after he took his wife to a Torrance hospital to be treated for her injuries.
The National Hockey League immediately suspended him following his arrest.
The Kings issued a statement Thursday saying they continue to support the suspension.
"As an organization we will continue to closely monitor the developments of the legal proceedings and work in partnership with the NHL to determine the proper course of action in the future," the statement read.
Voynov is scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 1.
