La Verne woman searches for long-lost sister using Facebook

LA VERNE, Calif. (KABC) -- A La Verne woman is on a mission to find her long-lost sister.

She contacted Eyewitness News using #ABC7Eyewitness.

At birth, Emily Cahill was adopted, but she has her biological parents' names.

That information, plus a few more details, is all she has to go on.

"I don't even know her name. I just know she was born in Florida, and she's a couple years younger than me," Cahill said.

Still, the 24-year-old is determined to find her.

She shared a letter on her Facebook page, which gives details like her birth name, Tasha Lea Smith.

"I've seen several other successful stories about people trying to find their birth parents or birth siblings, so I thought I'd give it a try," she said.

Her Facebook post has been shared more than 200 times.

This is not the first time Cahill has searched for her siblings. In 2010, she met one of her brothers for the first time. He is one of Cahill's nine biological siblings.

She's reconnected with six siblings in total and wants to add her youngest sister to her circle.

"If I do find her, I already love her even though I have not met her and don't know who she is. I already love her," she said.

Cahill is an avid Disney fan and an employee of the park. She says if she does find her long lost baby sister, she wants to meet her at the happiest place on Earth.
