LAGUNA WOODS, Calif. (KABC) -- Two women in their 70s were hospitalized after getting stung by a swarm of bees in Laguna Woods.

Both victims were playing golf when a groundskeeper apparently disturbed a hive with his lawnmower.

One woman was stung about 15 times. When her friend came to help, she received nearly 50 stings.

Both women are expected to be okay.

Firefighters advised that if a person is swarmed by bees, the best thing to do is to run from them rather than swat them.
