Ortega Highway closed due to brush fire above Lake Elsinore

LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. (KABC) -- A brush fire above Lake Elsinore has closed Highway 74 in both directions, according to Riverside County Fire Department officials.

The Macy Fire was reported near the Lookout Roadhouse restaurant in the 32000 block of Ortega Highway at about 7:15 p.m. and is currently threatening at least one structure.

Highway 74 was closed from the restaurant to Grand Avenue.

As of 11 p.m., the fire had charred five acres and was 15 percent contained. Officials say the forward progress of the fire has been stopped.
