LANCASTER, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was shot while sitting his car in Lancaster.
The incident happened around 11:38 p.m. Thursday on the 1700 block of Sierra View Avenue.
A witness told investigators that the victim, whose name has not been released, had just parked his Porsche Boxster and a passenger got out to knock on the door of a house.
That's when two male suspects approached the victim on foot. One of the suspects opened fire, hitting the victim in the head.
According to investigators, the victim drove away, veered to the left and crashed into a cinder block wall. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two suspects fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
