LANCASTER, Calif. (KABC) -- A 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder after an elderly woman was found dead at her home in Lancaster.
Sheriff's officials arrived on scene after receiving a report about an open window at 86-year-old Ann Bell's residence in the 44600 block of Stillwater Drive on Thursday.
Responding deputies found the woman unresponsive and suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds on her upper torso. Officials said the victim was found naked and items in her purse littered her backyard. She was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
Neighbors said the victim was not ambulatory and needed a wheelchair to get around.
As detectives were investigating the scene, witnesses told them someone who they believed was involved in the attack was hiding near their home. Deputies conducted a search of the area and found a male black juvenile hiding in the bushes.
The juvenile was arrested for murder and was being held with no bail.
