LAS VEGAS (KABC) -- Las Vegas police said a man was found dead from an apparent suicide at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino on Wednesday.
Authorities were called to the scene after reports of a possible armed and suicidal person in one of the rooms. Crisis negotiators were called to the scene and a standoff started at around 3 a.m., according to ABC affiliate KTNV-TV.
The man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound around 9 a.m., KTNV reports.
Several hotel rooms were evacuated during the standoff, but guests have since been allowed to return to their rooms.
The investigation is ongoing.
