LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Law enforcement officers are pushing to cut down on crashes between trains and cars, enforcing the state's railroad crossing laws.

Authorities said people often try to beat the trains and get around the closing gate. But officials stress that drivers and pedestrians need to do their part as trains need a lot of room to slow down.
