Suspicious package cleared at LAX; Terminal 1 reopens

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A suspicious package was reported at Los Angeles International Airport Tuesday afternoon.

LAX police were called to the Terminal 1 screening area to investigate around 3:45 p.m. The checkpoint was briefly closed and the terminal ticketing area was evacuated.

Airport offficials say the suspicious item was cleared around 4:20 p.m., and the terminal was repopulated.
