LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Dodgers held a victory parade in downtown Los Angeles on Friday.
Downtown L.A. was transformed into a giant Dodger street party for the parade, with thousands of fans lining the streets as early as 4 a.m. to get a good spot.
After the parade ended, the players headed to Dodger Stadium for a rally, where the atmosphere was electrifying.
World Series MVP Freddie Freeman was emotional as the crowd chanted "Freddie! Freddie!"
"When I came back after my son got sick, you guys showed out for my family. That was one of the greatest experiences I ever had on the field. I was so touched. I did everything I could to get on this field for you guys. I'm glad I did because we got a championship now."
Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts spoke at the World Series rally at Dodger Stadium, saying he has won three World Series so far and wants to get to at least five or six during his time with the team.
Betts then thanked his teammates and the fans.
An even louder round of cheers erupted at Dodger Stadium as World Series MVP Freddie Freeman entered with his wife and sons.
Freeman was the hero of this year's championship, hitting home runs in each of the first four games, including the first walkoff grand slam in World Series in Game 1.
And that came after what had been an extremely challenging year for the first baseman off the field. His son Max was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome and had a moment when he went into rapid decline and had to be rushed to the hospital. Dodger fans and teammates rallied around their first baseman with #MaxStrong T-shirts. Max was later released and has been described as slowly improving.
On top of that, Freeman was recovering from an ankle injury and it was later revealed he played the World Series with broken rib cartilage.
"I only had one leg but I have a whole group of guys who had my back all year. What a special group," Freeman said during the celebration at Dodger Stadium.
He paused to gather his emotions as the crowd chanted "Freddie! Freddie!"

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
"I can't wait to run this back next year. Let's go Dodgers!"
Teoscar Hernández delivered an emotional speech at Dodger Stadium, holding back tears as he took the mic in front of his teammates and fans.
"I play this game to win, and the Dodgers gave me the opportunity to come here so I can help this organization, this city, this team, these people, win a championship," Hernández said as fans chanted, "Teo! Teo!"
"You guys made this dream come true. Thank you making me a world champion!"
A fan dressed as a Dodgers-themed La Calavera Catrina attended the team's parade Friday morning in downtown Los Angeles, among thousands who turned out to help the Boys in Blue celebrate their World Series championship.
The skeletal Catrina is one of the Día de Muertos holiday's most iconic characters.
Skeletons are central to Day of the Dead celebrations, symbolizing a return of the bones to the living world. Like seeds planted under soil, the dead disappear temporarily only to return each year like the annual harvest.
