MALIBU, Calif. (KABC) -- Have you ever wondered what's at the bottom of the ocean in Malibu? A group of divers made a day of it to find out. They removed hundreds of pounds of trash over the weekend. Some of their finds you would call a bit strange.
With September being Coastal Cleanup Month, the group of about 30 suited up and literally dived in to save the environment.
With a mesh bag in hand they dived into the ocean, scooping up harmful debris.
The divers say they find a lot of unintentional waste, too. They're asking people to be mindful and to appreciate marine life.
