GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Fourteen people were injured when a Chicago-bound Megabus overturned on northbound I-65 near Indianapolis.

The Megabus, which started its trip in Atlanta, flipped on its side around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday in Greenwood, Indiana, and became entangled in the median's cable barrier. Investigators said the driver may have swerved to avoid another crash.

A woman who may have been pinned under the bus was hospitalized in critical condition and 13 others had various injuries. Greenwood Fire Department Battalion Chief Chris Harrell said 35 uninjured people were taken to the hospital just to be checked out.

Officials said 50 to 60 people were on board the Megabus. Craig Steichen, of St. Charles, Illinois, was asleep when the bus crashed.

"Once we hit the truck, we started rolling over," said Steichen. "I moved three or four different times thinking, when is this going to stop?"

Weather was likely a factor in the crash, according to police. There were storms in the area overnight and roads were slick. Steichen said it'd been raining since the bus left Atlanta.

According to the Megabus schedule, it made stops in Chattanooga, Tennessee; Nashville, Tennessee; and Louisville, Kentucky.

The crash initially shut down I-65 in both directions just south of Exit 99, but traffic was getting through by 6 a.m., according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.
