SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities were investigating a double-shooting that took place in a San Bernardino parking lot Thursday night.

Around 8:17 p.m., San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies received reports of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 4200 block of North F Street. When deputies arrived, they found a man dead from a gunshot wound in the parking lot.

Deputies also found a woman, 30-year-old Londen Williams, suffering from a single gunshot wound. She was taken to a local hospital and was expected to survive.

The dead man and Williams do not know each other, according to police, and it is a coincidence that both of them were in the parking lot at the same time.

Earlier reports indicated there was a third victim, but authorities said that has been unfounded.

Evidence gathered at the scene suggests there were at least two shooting suspects, but deputies did not release any descriptions.

Detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Specialized Investigations Division Homicide Detail were handling the investigation.
