2 employees dead in murder-suicide at Home Depot store in New York City

NEW YORK (KABC) -- Two male Home Depot employees died in a shooting after an apparent murder-suicide inside a Manhattan branch, police said.

The incident was reported at about 2:45 p.m. Sunday at the Home Depot on 23rd Street and 6th Avenue. At the time, the store was crowded with shoppers stocking up in advance of the approaching storm.

Witnesses say the shooting happened in the store's lighting department.

No shots were fired at anyone on the street. A handgun was recovered at the scene.

No motive was immediately available.
