Boyfriend arrested in Palmdale stabbing

PALMDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies arrested a 36-year-old man after his girlfriend was found stabbed to death in Palmdale.

Jose Martinez was arrested at 11:10 p.m. Saturday in the 4000 block of Palmdale Boulevard. He was held on $1 million bail and set to appear in a Lancaster court on Tuesday.

Earlier Saturday, detectives responded at about 1:30 p.m. in the 38000 block of 3rd Street East to a call about a stabbing. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told investigators Martinez and the victim had been arguing.
