BRENTWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A broken water main created a watery mess in the Brentwood neighborhood and left some residents without water Tuesday morning.

An 8-inch cast iron pipe burst in the 11900 block of San Vicente Boulevard near Montana Street. The break was reported around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Department of Water and Power crews were called to the scene to shut the water off. Officials said they hope to have it restored by about 3 p.m.

Meantime, approximately 20 customers were without water.

The cause of the break was under investigation.
