Car connected to person of interest in Los Alamitos murder located

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities located a car Wednesday connected to a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a Los Alamitos father of two.

Eleazar Vargas, 41, was identified as a person of interest in the murder of 39-year-old Sangju Sung on Monday. Vargas is Sung's neighbor.

Sung was fatally shot at close range near Catalina and Pine streets around 5 p.m. Sunday. Los Alamitos police said Vargas was in the vicinity at the time of the shooting and is now missing.

Los Alamitos police said they're not aware of any previous disturbance calls to Vargas' home.
