Hollywood high-rise residents to be kicked out
Residents of a luxurious high rise in Hollywood have been given a 30-day notice to leave their homes after controversy over preserving the building's historic facade.

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Residents of a luxurious high-rise in Hollywood have been given a 30-day notice to leave their homes after controversy over preserving the building's historic facade.

The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety voted Tuesday 5-0 to uphold an order calling for all residents of the Sunset and Gordon tower to be removed.

The battle began over the historic facade of the Old Spaghetti Factory. The building developer and city agreed to preserve the 1924 facade, but the developer said it was too deteriorated and constructed a replica instead.

As a result of the violation, the developer lost its building permit and residents were given a 30-day notice to find new living accommodations.

Residents were given a heads up in October that this may happen.
