New video released of SoCal terrorism plot

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- New video was revealed on Tuesday of two would-be terrorists from Ontario who wanted to help al Qaeda and fight the U.S. military overseas.

Almost a year after Sohiel Kabir and Ralph Deleon were sentenced, viewers are getting a much closer look at the evidence the prosecution used at trial.

Video, provided by an FBI informant, shows the two men and two other aspiring terrorists practicing at shooting ranges back in 2012.

The group was planning to travel to Afghanistan to commit violent Jihad and fight U.S. troops.

Kabir was already in Afghanistan communicating regularly with the other three back home via Skype.

At one point, the group is heard talking about whether suicide bombing was a good tactic.

"Is he for it or against it? He's for it. How could he be against it?" one of the men said.

Then, on Nov. 16, 2012, the three of them got into a car and tried to leave their Chino apartment - presumably to head for Mexico - until they're cut off by an undercover FBI agent.

All three of them, one-by-one, slowly backed up with their hands over their heads until they were all taken into custody.

It was around this time that Enrique Marquez, the man who gave San Bernardino shooters Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik their assault rifles, was planning attacks at Riverside City College and the 91 Freeway with Farook.

Authorities said Marquez and Farook were likely spooked, and believe the Riverside attack perhaps never happened because of the arrest made in Chino that day.
