LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against Los Angeles City Councilman Jose Huizar has been settled.

Francine Godoy, a former deputy chief of staff in Huizar's 14th District council office, claimed the councilman offered to support her in an election campaign in exchange for sex.

Godoy claimed that when she declined to provide sexual favors, Huizar retaliated by withdrawing his support for Godoy's bid for a seat on the Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees.

Huizar denied any wrongdoing, although he admitted to having a consensual relationship with Godoy.

Terms of the settlement weren't made public, but Godoy's lawyer said it included the dismissal of his client's lawsuit.
