BOYLE HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A 5th grade student was stabbed at a Boyle Heights elementary school on Thursday, according to officials.
The Los Angeles School Police Department said the stabbing happened at Bridge Street Elementary School.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said it responded to the school at about 10:30 a.m. and transported a student to the hospital.
The child's condition was not available from officials.
Police said both the victim and suspect were boys in the 5th grade. The suspect has been arrested.
School officials sent a letter home to parents informing them about an "incident" in which a student was injured.
The letter stated that school officials were working with police to investigate the incident.
