Alhambra City Hall reopens after police deem suspicious letter safe

ALHAMBRA, Calif. (KABC) -- Alhambra City Hall was reopened Monday afternoon after a suspicious letter was deemed safe by police.



The report of a possible suspicious package at 111 S. 1st St. came in around 11:30 a.m. Authorities confirmed the package was a letter.



The Alhambra Police Department said City Hall was temporarily shut down as hazmat teams investigate the incident. Police said 1st Street was also closed in both directions.





City Hall and 1st Street were reopened shortly before 1 p.m. after police declared there was no threat.
