Road closures in effect in Hollywood for Oscars ceremony

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Several road closures and restrictions are in place around Hollywood in preparation for the star-studded Oscars on Sunday.

Hollywood Boulevard from the southeast corner of Orange Drive to Highland Avenue will be closed from 10 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. March 1.

Road closures will continue the closer it gets to the ceremony.

Street closures and restrictions:

  • All lanes of Hollywood Boulevard from southeast corner of Orange Drive to Highland Avenue.
  • South curb lane of Hawthorn Avenue from Highland Avenue to Orange Drive.
  • Hawthorn Alley behind the El Capitan Theatre from 300 feet east of Orange Drive east to the "T" alley. Remainder of alley remains open from the "T" east to Highland Avenue.
  • Sidewalk closures and restrictions:

  • South sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard from Orange Drive to Highland Avenue, except for an 8-foot pedestrian access path.
  • North sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Dolby Theater, as well as north portion of sidewalk from Highland Avenue to Orange Drive.
  • Pedestrian crosswalk that is mid-block on Hollywood Boulevard between Orange Drive and Highland Avenue is closed.
