9 arrested in Pomona illegal gambling bust; more than 55 gambling machines seized

9 arrested in major illegal gambling bust in Pomona
An investigation into illegal gambling operations at six locations in Pomona resulted in the arrests of nine people, as well as the seizure and destruction of dozens of gambling machines.

POMONA, Calif. (CNS) -- An investigation into illegal gambling operations at six locations in Pomona resulted in the arrests of nine people, as well as the seizure and destruction of dozens of gambling machines.



According to the Pomona Police Department, officers from the department's Major Crimes Task Force executed a search warrants Wednesday morning, targeting illegal gambling at multiple locations -- 877 E. Phillips Blvd.; 1090 S. Garey Ave.; 1649 E. Mission Blvd. Suite B; 854 E. Mission Blvd.; 540 E. Foothill Blvd.; and 570 W. Holt Ave.



Authorities seized an undisclosed amount of money and narcotics during the investigation, police said. Investigators also took possession of more than 55 illegal gambling machines, which were later destroyed and disposed of by the city's Public Works Department.



The names of the nine people arrested in the raids were not immediately released.
