1 killed, 1 critical in Pomona shooting

POMONA, Calif. (KABC) -- A woman was killed and a man is in critical condition after both were found shot in the backseat of a car in the driveway of a Pomona home Sunday.

Authorities received a call around 2:51 a.m. regarding a shooting in the 1300 block of Caprino Way. When officers arrived, the woman was found shot to death in the backseat of the car, while the man was airlifted to a local hospital.

The man and woman were identified as Pomona residents Vanessa Renee Lopez, 28, and Manuel Flores Jr, 30.

The car where the pair was found was in the driveway of a home, but it is unclear if that was their home, if the car belonged to either of them, or the nature of their relationship.

The investigation is ongoing.
