GRANADA HILLS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The countdown is on for the October return of the San Fernando Valley's largest street fair.

The Granada Hills Chamber of Commerce is putting finishing touches on its 21st annual Street Faire & Oktobestfest celebration, set for Saturday, Oct 18.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Chatsworth Street will bustle with activities for all ages, including live music, dancing, a beer garden, classic car show, and food vendors.

Families can also enjoy an interactive kid's zone, with inflatable activities and rides. Admission is free.

What started with a small get-together has grown into one of the Valley's greatest traditions, drawing more than 35,000 attendees last year.

"It was just one little street," chamber president Tina Grigorian said. "Now we close everything from Encino (Avenue) all the way to Zelzah (Avenue). That's a lot of blocks."

The festival, which Gregorian said has a "fun, homey vibe," will continue to grow this year, in anticipation of Granada Hills' 100th birthday in 2026.

The addition of a farmers market to this year's festival is expected to attract even more visitors, vice president Natalie Khooda said

"You will never see a farmers market like this," Grigorian said. "It's like going to your grandma's house."

"We are known as 'The Valley's Most Neighborly Town,'" Khooda added. "We have people driving from Compton to be at our street fair."

Booth space is still available. For more information, visit GranadaChamber.com.
