PANORAMA CITY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Three people were killed and one person was injured Friday night following a three-car crash in Panorama City, authorities said.

The fatal crash was reported just after 9:30 p.m. in the 9300 block of N. Woodman Avenue.

A 35-year-old man was trapped inside a van and was rescued by responding firefighters, the Los Angeles Fire Department said. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The 35-year-old was in the van with a 30-year-old man who died in the crash.

Two other people killed in the crash - a man and a woman - were in a Ford Mustang. They were both 20 years old, according to LAFD.

Three people in a third car involved in the crash declined treatment.

AIR7 was over the scene as a large part of the street was cordoned off. Drivers were urged to find alternate routes.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
