Investigation underway after person found fatally shot on La Puente sidewalk

LA PUENTE, Calif. (KABC) -- An investigation is underway after a person was shot and killed in La Puente.

Deputies responded to reports of shots fired near the intersection of North Orange Avenue and Amar Road shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

They found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds on the sidewalk. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe he was between 16 and 25 years old.
