Knott's Berry Farm ride stops with riders dangling in the air

BUENA PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- New video shows people stuck mid-air on a Knott's Berry Farm ride as it malfunctioned on Saturday.

The video shows some riders positioned on their sides, dangling in the air, as the spinning Sol Spin ride stopped. In the Citizen App video, you can hear riders screaming.

The riders were able to get off shortly after the ride stopped. According to Knotts, the ride was stopped for approximately five minutes and later reopened after a full safety inspection.

This isn't the first time Sol Spin has gotten stuck with riders on board. Back in November, AIR7 captured terrifying video of riders stuck for more than two hours.

Knott's released the following statement:

"The safety of our guests is a top priority. Today the ride did not complete a full cycle as a safety precaution. The ride was stopped for approximately five minutes. The ride received a full safety inspection and reopened shortly after."
