LA model, influencer Adva Lavie ordered held without bail after new arrest

VAN NUYS, Calif. (KABC) -- An online model and influencer known by several names, including Mia Ventura, Shoshana and Shana, was ordered held without bail Thursday after a judge determined she violated multiple court orders while awaiting trial on a series of criminal allegations.

Adva Lavie was arrested earlier this year and is accused of using dating apps to build relationships before robbing, stealing from and extorting victims, according to investigators. Authorities say the alleged victims include older wealthy men as well as younger women and are located in Westlake Village, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Los Angeles.

This week, Lavie was arrested on a warrant accusing her of stealing more than $10,000 worth of jewelry and other items in Indio last year. Investigators also said a court-ordered ankle monitor Lavie was supposed to be wearing was missing at the time of her arrest.

During a court hearing Thursday, a judge ruled that Lavie would remain in custody without bail until trial. The decision came after the judge found that Lavie had violated multiple court orders, including applying for a second Israeli passport after her original passport had been confiscated and removing her GPS monitor.

Lavie's attorneys said after the hearing that they remain confident in her defense.

"Adva has gone through a lot in her life she's a work in progress. She is not perfect. She's made mistakes but she's doing the best she can. She's improving and we're proud to represent her and obviously the judge made his decision today and we respect it completely," attorney Jeremy Lessem said.

Lavie is scheduled to return to court in a couple of weeks for a mental health hearing. She faces more than 11 years in prison and has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
