A rare and mesmerizing rainbow cloud was spotted in the skies above Caxias, Brazil, on Dec. 6.

A video was posted to Facebook of the weather phenomenon known as cloud iridescence.

According to AccuWeather, "cloud iridescence occurs when water droplets or ice crystals scatter light."
