Roommates rescue elderly man caught on flooded Costa Mesa street, video shows

COSTA MESA, Calif. (KABC) -- Two women helped rescue an elderly man who got caught on a flooded street in Costa Mesa following last week's storm.

Nicole Fox was filming her flooded street when she saw an elderly man's car taken over by the deep water, causing it to drift sideways.

As the man got out of his car, she asked: "Sir, are you OK?"

He answers "No, I'm not."

She responds that she is calling 911.

She said her roommate, Felicia, went down to the street and guided the man through the water, lifted him over the street curb and brought him to safety.

Her roommate eventually drove the man home.
