
COLTON, Calif. (KABC) -- All westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway reopened nearly seven hours after a cooking oil spill caused a major traffic jam in the Colton area on Tuesday.
A truck crash caused the cooking oil to spill all over the freeway mainlanes around 4 p.m.
All westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway were closed at Mt. Vernon Avenue as crews worked to clean up the mess.
Traffic was being diverted off the freeway at Mt. Vernon, with delays stretching all the way back to Redlands.
Crews worked for hours to absorb all of the oil. The freeway finally reopened around 11 p.m.
