LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Traffic slowed to a crawl at the Sepulveda Pass on Tuesday afternoon after a big rig blew a tire and went across all northbound lanes into an embankment.

The big rig reportedly hit a Cadillac in the process.

AIR7 video from shortly after 3 p.m. showed a lengthy traffic backup on the freeway near Mulholland Drive, where it appeared crews had a couple northbound lanes blocked.

Although a SigAlert was never issued and it appeared the lane closures were kept at just a couple of lanes, traffic was still snarled in the area.

By later in the afternoon, it appeared conditions had improved, though traffic is normally slow in the area during the evening commute.
