VAN NUYS and HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Two areas in Southern California suffered through power outages Saturday after power lines were downed.
In Huntington Beach, nearly 3,000 Southern California Edison customers were without power since 12:30 a.m. after a car ran into a power pole in the 15900 block of Bolsa Chica Street. Power was restored at about 4:30 p.m.
The driver suffered minor injuries.
In Van Nuys, wires were reported down in the Van Nuys-area, causing power outages for about 40 customers around 1:30 p.m.
Witnesses told authorities a mylar balloon got stuck in the high voltage wires near the intersection of Kester and Califa, breaking two lines. Power was restored at about 4:30 p.m.
