MALIBU, Calif. (KABC) -- The Southland was hit with a red flag warning Saturday as dry, windy conditions put local firefighters on alert.
Crews were positioned in trouble spots as low humidity means a higher potential for fires.
If something were to ignite with the wind conditions, fire officials said the blaze could spread quickly.
Firefighters encouraged residents to clear brush around their homes and to refrain from lighting fires outside during the windy conditions.
Anyone who sees smoke should immediately call 911.
