HOUSTON -- Six-year-old Ziggy Stovall-Reed set aside his battle with leukemia to officially sign with the Rice University football team Wednesday.
At his very own signing day, Ziggy got a Rice Owls cap and a standing ovation from his new teammates. With his mom by his side, his signing speech didn't disappoint.
"It's my favorite sport. I run and I throw the football. But I catch footballs everyday. And I play with my mom," he said.
Rice head coach David Bailiff describes Ziggy as a "playmaker." He also said that Ziggy just gained 100 brothers and 10 grandfathers to look out for him.
