Deputies say they found the car and the possible weapon used in the shooting on a Texas freeway on March 20.

HOUSTON -- Authorities have arrested a suspect in a violent road rage shooting that took place on a Texas freeway on March 20.

Detrich Evans, 22, is accused of shooting a woman in a fit of road rage.

The shooting took place on the I-45 North Freeway near Bammel Westfield Road. Police have been desperately searching for the suspect ever since.

The victim, Kay Hafford, is recovering. She is walking and talking, and said she feared the suspect could go after somebody else.

Police arrested Evans Monday at an apartment complex in north Houston. They say they also recovered a possible weapon and the car police say Evans was driving when he allegedly fired his gun.

The victim says she was just getting on the freeway like any other day when the suspect cut her off, and when she honked, he shot her.

Hafford was struck in the back of the head, but was still able to call 911. She pulled over and managed to tell authorities that the gunman was a man wearing a blue baseball cap.
