LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Ryan Gosling sings, dances and plays the piano in the critically acclaimed new romantic musical "La La Land" - opening this weekend.
In it, Gosling plays a jazz pianist who falls for an aspiring actress, played by Emma Stone.
He studied piano, dance and singing every day for three months to prepare for the role.
"Even though it's a musical, I think at the core, it's about just pursuing your dreams no matter what the obstacles are," Gosling said. "So it's a strong theme that I think will resonate with a lot of people. It certainly resonated with me."
"La La Land" which is already generating early awards buzz, opens in limited released on Friday.
