Car-to-car shooting marks San Bernardino's 25th homicide this year

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- San Bernardino police are investigating the city's 25th homicide of the year after a 29-year-old man was killed in a car-to-car shooting Thursday night.

Authorities responded to a report of shots being fired in the area of W. 10th and N. F streets around 9:05 p.m.

Upon their arrival, officers found Vincent Gandara suffering from gunshot wounds inside a vehicle that had veered into the front yard of a residence in the 1000 block of N. F Street.

Gandara was transported to St. Bernardine Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Witnesses told police they saw someone in a tan-colored vehicle firing shots at Gandara's vehicle.

Police say Gandara is a documented gang member but it's unclear if the shooting is related to his gang-affiliation. No arrests have been made in the case.
