Solar eruption captured on video by NASA

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory captured video of a tangled mass of plasma erupting on the surface of the sun.

The plasma is suspended in an arc. Scientists say the arc represents charged solar material flowing up into the solar atmosphere and down again -- following magnetic field lines.

The video, which covers less than 24 hours of activity, was taken last Thursday and Friday.
