SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- Orange County sheriff's helicopter support "Duke" helped capture a man suspected of hurling marbles at Santa Ana police with a slingshot Thursday night. The incident was caught on infrared video.

Hector Perez, 37, was arrested on several counts of assault with a deadly weapon and felony vandalism.

Santa Ana police say officers were conducting a felony car stop on the 1700 block of West 1st Street around 10:45 p.m. when Perez started firing marbles in their direction.

The suspect was unsuccessful in hitting any of the officers, but one marble shattered the rear window of a police car. The helicopter zeroed in on the suspect in a backyard on the 1700 block of 2nd Street, and police then moved in.

Three people were detained, but Perez was ultimately identified as the primary suspect and arrested.
