South Los Angeles shooting leaves 1 person dead

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Police witnessed a shooting in South Los Angeles that left one person dead, authorities said.

The shooting happened at 71st Street and Broadway Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The victim was hit by gunfire and later died at the scene.

Officials said one person was in custody shortly after the incident.
