FONTANA, Calif. (KABC) -- A spring storm moved through Southern California Tuesday evening, making roads slick and dangerous for drivers.

A heavy downpour triggered minor street flooding in Upland, and some people were getting soaked by the rainfall.

Others throughout the Southland pulled out umbrellas and raincoats for the first time in weeks.

It was a wet night on the field for some soccer players in Fontana, but they kept their eyes on the goal in spite of the chilly temperatures and wet grass.

Strong winds also caused problems in the Antelope Valley, as power crews were busy repairing damaged lines after a large tree fell down near a house.

The rain moved in just as many people were heading home from work.

After recent spells of unusually warm weather, and with the ongoing drought causing major concern, most residents said they welcomed the rain.
