Glen Powell heads cast of dark comedy, 'How to Make a Killing'

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- What would you do with $28 billion, and how far would you go to get it?

Those are the questions driving a new dark comedy full of filthy rich people and a man hunting them down one by one.

In "How to Make a Killing," Glen Powell plays Becket Redfellow. And Becket has a problem, seven of them to be exact, all people in his way.

He just needs to be careful about who he's killing for in this story. Powell notes that the plot involves "the danger of looking on the other side of the fence, you know, and the danger of looking at other people's lives."

In the film, Powell is a man on a mission to get what he believes he's rightfully owed. Along the way he meets Ruth, played by Jessica Henwick. Suddenly, the more he stands to gain, the more he has to lose.

There's a scene in the movie where Henwick's character says: "It's just scary to dream small. Nobody teaches us how to do that."

Henwick has her own dreams in real life.

"I have a dream to live in a self-sufficient home," she said. "I also dream about getting an RV and just driving across America. I think that's one I can do."

One of the relatives standing in the way of Becket's big dream is his cousin, a pastor with eccentric taste, played by Topher Grace, who sees this story as a cautionary tale.

"One of the best things about coming into an industry like this and getting to meet people who are so much more wealthy than you ever will be who are miserable and realizing at a young age, for me at least, that that wasn't going to solve anything," he said.

Rounding out the cast are Academy-Award nominee Ed Harris, the menacing Redfellow patriarch, and Margaret Qualley, who plays a real wild card who keeps the audience guessing.

Will Becket inherit the family fortune, or will everything come crumbling down? You'll just have to see for yourself.

"How to Make a Killing" is rated R. It's new to theaters this weekend.
