Brush fire near Palmdale triggers evacuation warnings for some residents

Crews are battling a brush fire near Palmdale, triggering evacuation warnings for some residents.

The Hilary Fire was first reported around 2 p.m. in Los Angeles County off East Barrel Springs Road, north of 40th Street E.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department said forward progress stopped just before 3:30 p.m., with the fire holding at 74 acres.

Still, evacuation warnings are in place for the following zones, meaning residents should prepare to leave with a potential threat to life and/or property:

• PAL-032
