BURBANK, Calif. (KABC) -- A fast-moving large fire burning in the hillsides between Sun Valley and Sunland-Tujunga prompted mandatory evacuations and multiple road closures.

The blaze, dubbed the La Tuna Fire, started around 1:30 p.m. Friday in the 10800 block of West La Tuna Canyon Road amid hot and windy conditions. LAFD spokeswoman Margaret Stewart asked people to listen to evacuation orders.

"We ask them to not hesitate," Stewart said. "Go. By leaving now, by leaving early they let us focus on protecting homes and not having the additional crises of responding to people hurt or trapped in their homes."
