First Taco Bell to be moved to Irvine to save it from demolition

DOWNEY, Calif. (KABC) -- The very first Taco Bell is being moved from Downey where it was built in 1962 to the company's corporate offices in Irvine after talks it could be demolished.

A time-lapse video shows workers lifting the store off its foundation for the 45-mile journey to its new home.

Workers are expected to haul it by truck on Thursday night.
